The Wellspring community is an avid bunch of readers! Thank you for your suggestions. Keep them coming - I love a recommendation for a good book.

Here are my top picks for your school holidays (not that anyone has time to read when their kids/grandkids are around!) I am doing my best to grab fireside chillout time when I can with my favourite book of the moment.

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

A friend recommended this book to me and I could.not.put.it.down! Triggers of domestic violence so be warned, it's a heavy read at times. But it's a love story at its heart and I just adored reading it. There's a sequel too - It Starts with Us. Don't be fooled - you need to read the "It Ends with Us" first or it will make no sense! I'm delighted to see this will be a move with Blake Lively. Even better when amazing books become a movie!

Heartstrong by Ellidy Pullin

This was a recommendation from a fellow Wellspringer. I borrowed her book and loved it so much I bought it for my Mum. It's not what I expected, this story. Ellidy tells her personal experience losing her partner who was around 30 when he died tragically one Wednesday morning at a Gold Coast beach in a spearfishing accident. Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin, a famous snowboarder and her partner for 8 years, gone. What happens next is fascinating as it tells the story of Ellidy doing IVF with sperm extracted post Chumpy's death. I wasn't sure how I felt about this whole concept until I read this book and it changed my mind. Whilst it wouldn't have been my approach if I was 28 experiencing this situation, I can connect with this story and understand why Ellidy created a child with Chumpy even though he had died. Their love seemed epic. Well worth the read.

The Swap by Robyn Harding

This book had me guessing till the final pages! A spicy novel where two couples swap partners for the night. The toxic relationship between the couples spiral in the weeks after. Then add in a manipulative teenager with an axe to grind and this book is one twist after another. A great read for a long rainy weekend.

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

Another recommendation from a fellow Wellspringer (you guys bring me all the best books!) Set in 1960s America, this is a story of a single mother who is a brilliant chemist who becomes a TV presenter on a cooking show. Complex relationships, stereotypes and a woman up against everything, it's a real intriguing book. Highly recommend this one. It's also going to be a TV show!

You need to know by Nicola Moriarty

A thrilling family drama with secrets that could destroy them all. A number of cars set out for a family holiday. Till there is a tragic crash. I don't want to give any more away than this but it's well worth the page-turning read.

Tell me what you are reading... and give me more recommendations, Wellspringers!

Till next time Wellspringers,

Holly
