How Pilates helps me...

Since I opened in September 2021, my mantra has been "helping people move". One of the reasons I love Pilates is that it helps you do everyday, functional movements.

I feel joy when clients tell me things they can do now that they couldn't do before they started Pilates with me. To me, this is the best feedback I can get about your class. I want to help clients move better. I give you exercises that are designed to make your day-to-day life pain-free and a bit easier. And I want you to feel strong and unstoppable!

Here are five stories from Wellspringers that show me how Pilates has changed lives.

I feel more stable when I do ballroom dancing

One of my clients has been doing ballroom dancing with her husband since before COVID (also couple goals - take note Mr Jones!). In the last six months, she's been coming to Pilates, we have been doing a lot of balance work. She tells me that ballroom dancing has a lot of spinning and it's only recently that she's felt so much more stable on her feet.

I feel stronger after knee-surgery

One of my rockstar regulars hurt herself skiing 8 months ago. It really sucks because she was ski-fit thanks to Pilates and her daily wall sits and this injury was simply bad luck. Over the past few months, we have been working on knee movement, hamstring and general leg strength. It's a slow burn recovering after an injury but I'm seeing progress and that fills me with joy hearing a client feel stronger after a setback.

My ankles feel ready for an 80km hike.

One of my newest clients to Pilates this year is embarking on a long walk in Western Australia this month. I am blown away with her improvement with balance and leg strength in a few short months. She's working hard in the studio as well as at home to be ready for this trip. I cannot wait to hear about it on her return!

Have stronger wrists for computer work

Many of us work at a computer and can have sore wrists. One of my clients has noticed the difference in their wrist strength since starting Pilates. By working on wrist alignment, arms and upper back, this client is now experiencing less pain in their wrists. Yay for Pilates!

Regain strength after back surgery

One of my regular Wellspringers had back surgery last year. It was awful and I could imagine the frustration at needing to slow down with this surgery and recovery. But wow, is this a comeback. She's moving better than ever! I'm so proud and impressed by this client. Well done, you know who you are.

All of these statements really made me reflect on how Pilates is helping you move better, feel strong and get back on your feet after a setback. Every person's journey is different. I'll be here continuing to help you move better.

Till next time Wellspringers, and keep moving,

Love Holly xx
