I feel like 6 days into this New Year we’ve hit a rocky road in Brisbane. And not the type of Rocky Road I was munching on over the Christmas break. Those days of delicious chocolate, crushed nuts, fluffy marshmallows and gummy snakes (ok I hate Turkish delight so I sub it out) seem long forgotten. I was ready to embrace this New Year head on with healthy eating and a new attitude to create a calmer and happier me.
First week of the year and my husband and I have enjoyed G&T Tuesdays. Tuesday, seriously! This is not a good start in my mind. Our first date night for the year has crumbled into pieces as our babysitter is unwell too. Might be a candlelight dinner on the couch then.
This Omicron variant is ripping through our community. When we see cases hitting 10,000 (and that’s only reported cases) it’s hard to remember only a month ago we were enjoying Christmas events without a mask! Queenslanders were lured into this false sense of security that a pandemic didn’t touch us. We were ok. But that has quickly spiraled.
This time we need to draw deep (again?) and find that mental strength to get through this. Things are going to get tougher in Queensland. But I’m personally hopeful that it will be hard and fast and we can move past this phase.
Look after yourselves, be kind to each other. And take it one day at a time. This is what I’m telling myself on repeat.
For clients who attend the studio (or may soon be attending), I’ll be doing my best to keep everything clean and sanitised (I was a germaphob pre-pandemic so rest assured I’m working hard on this more than ever!)
Masks are compulsory in studio, unless you have a medical exemption of course.
As a sole business owner, I may need to close the studio last minute, being a close contact or unwell. I have no substitute teachers so I appreciate your support and kindness as I try to keep you and your families safe. Please be assured I will credit your class back to your pack if I have to cancel last minute or close the studio for a period of time.
Wellspring Pilates has a 12 hour cancellation policy. So please cancel your class more than 12 hours in advance if you can. I also hope to see my clients stay committed to their Pilates classes and turn up and move. We all feel better if we keep moving, for our bodies and our minds.
If you have any concerns about your pack or attending to the studio, please reach out.
See you soon Wellspringers,
Holly
